Shocking Xbox Red Light of Death Secrets

One of the most crazy things about the Xbox red light of death is the number of consoles it has struck down since the platforms release around three years ago. According to a number of sources, at least 12 million consoles have been damaged by the problem (although the real figure could be much higher) Some retailers have even reported failure rates of over 40%, which is simply staggering.

So what causes the Xbox red light of death?

The problem is caused by overheating- basically, the Xbox 360 is very prone to having heat build up inside the case due to a lack of cooling devices such as fans and heat sinks, as well as a cramped layout with not much space.

As heat levels rise inside your Xbox 360, the thermal glue which holds your console's graphics processor unit (GPU) in place, starts to come loose. This then leads to malfunctions as the video display system cannot work properly, one of these being the red light of death on your Xbox.

The good news is that you can actually repair your Xbox 360, and you can even do it yourself. For around $30, and in less than two hours, you will be able to fix Xbox red light errors on your console and get gaming again.

It's really not that hard to do, as there's only one minor little tweak you need to perform. Also, you'll feel a massive sense of accomplishment, and save yourself hundreds off the cost of buying a new Xbox 360.
